Keegan M. McElroy received her law degree from the Washburn University School of Law in 2019, along with a Family Law Certificate and Pro Bono Honors. During her time at Washburn, she served as a Director of the Children and Family Law Center, Student Director of the Study Abroad Programs, and a teaching assistant for the legal writing program. Keegan demonstrated her legal ability as an intern in the Washburn Law Clinic, receiving the Irvine E. Ungerman Award for Excellence in Clinical Practice. Prior to attending law school, Keegan received her B.S., magna cum laude, in Child, Youth and Family Studies from the University of Nebraska—Lincoln.
Keegan joined the firm as an associate following her law school graduation. In 2023, she became a partner with the firm. She is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of Kansas, and she is a member of the Kansas Bar Association (KBA) and the Topeka Bar Association (TBA). She serves as past-president of the TBA Young Lawyers Board of Directors and in 2023 received TBA’s Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award. More recently, in September 2023, she was named Best of Topeka Divorce Attorney by the Topeka Capital Journal Community Awards. She is an active member of the Shawnee County Family Law Committee and the Sam A. Crow American Inn of Court.
In addition to her dedication in the legal community, Keegan also is an active member of the Topeka Sertoma Evening Club. She also serves on the Executive Board of Directors for CASA of Shawnee County and as a Trustee of the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library. In 2021, Keegan was named one of Topeka’s Top 20 Under 40 Honorees. She graduated in the 2023 class of Leadership Greater Topeka.
Keegan’s practice focuses mainly on Family Law issues centering on divorce, child custody, child support, parenting time disputes and parentage.
