Jennifer Martin Smith graduated with honors from the University of Missouri - Kansas City in 2002, and received her B.S. in Sociology from Missouri State University in 1999. After practicing employment litigation in Kansas City, Missouri for several years, Jennifer relocated to Topeka and joined the Alderson Law Firm as Of Counsel. In 2022, Jennifer officially joined the firm as partner. She primarily focuses on child welfare litigation including serving as Guardian ad Litem for children in need of care and in highly contested divorce and custody cases. In addition to child advocacy, Jennifer’s practice includes general family law, such as divorce and parentage actions, adoption, and appellate work. Jennifer is licensed to practice before the state and federal courts in Kansas and Missouri, as well as the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Tribal Court, the Kickapoo Nation Tribal Court, and the United States Court for Federal Claims.
